How we research, verify, and maintain the quality of information on Dog Groomer Locator

Our Commitment

Dog Groomer Locator is committed to providing accurate, helpful, and trustworthy information to dog owners seeking professional grooming services. Every listing and piece of editorial content on this site goes through a research and verification process before publication.

How We Source Listings

Groomer listings are sourced from public business data — primarily Google Business Profiles, collected through a licensed data-extraction service — along with user submissions, which are reviewed against the same standards before publication.

Every listing is loaded into a managed review database and passes automated quality gates before it appears on the site:

  • Deduplication against existing listings
  • Venue screening — records that are not operating grooming businesses (veterinary practices, pet retail, boarding-only kennels) are removed
  • Minimum content standard — a listing is only published if we hold enough substantive, business-specific detail to tell you something a map result would not

We would rather publish nothing than publish a page that tells you less than a search engine already would. As of the most recent build we hold 5,316 grooming businesses in our database and publish 3,794 of them. The remaining 1,522 do not currently meet the standard above and are not published — their pages are withdrawn rather than shown as empty listings. If we later hold enough detail, the listing is published automatically.

How Listing Descriptions Are Written

Each published listing carries a short description written from facts we hold about that specific business. Where the business operates its own website, we read the pages it publishes about itself and summarise the concrete details it states there — services, opening days, ownership, stated pricing, booking and deposit policies. That summary is drafted with AI assistance from those extracted facts and is written in our own words; we do not copy the business's wording, and we do not invent details that the business has not published.

Where a business has no usable website, the description is composed only from the structured facts we hold — business type, services, opening hours and location. Ratings and review counts shown on a listing are Google's, labelled as such; we do not write reviews and we do not collect them. Prices shown are as published by the business on its own site, checked July 2026, and can change without notice.

How We Create Content

Blog posts and guides on Dog Groomer Locator are produced by our editorial team. Articles are drafted with AI assistance, grounded in verified business facts and published breed-care references, then reviewed and edited by the publisher, Kevin Collins, before they go live. Each article includes:

  • Clear attribution to the Dog Groomer Locator Editorial Team
  • Publication dates
  • References to published grooming and pet-care guidance where relevant
  • Clear distinction between factual information and editorial opinion

Update Frequency

We review and update groomer listings on a rolling basis. Business information can change without notice — hours, services, and pricing are particularly subject to change. We encourage users to verify details directly with the grooming business before visiting. If you notice outdated or incorrect information, please let us know so we can correct it promptly.

Independence

Our listings and editorial recommendations are independent. Grooming businesses cannot pay for placement, higher rankings, or favorable reviews in our directory. Advertising and affiliate relationships are clearly disclosed and do not influence our editorial decisions or the order in which listings appear.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously. If we publish incorrect information — whether in a listing or an editorial article — we correct it as quickly as possible. Corrections are made directly in the content. If the error was significant, we note the correction at the bottom of the affected page. To report an error, use our contact form.
